A musical tribute to Daniel O'Donnell and Mary Duff' will be held at Bishops College auditorium on October 5 at 7 PM. The concert will feature many hits songs of the duo.
The show has been especially put together for the enjoyment of all Daniel O'Donnell and Mary Duff fans. The concept of the concert has been developed based on The Daniel O'Donnell Rock & Roll show which probably is best choreographed show done by the popular singer. In keeping with typical DOD and Mary Duff style of singing the musical tribute will give all Sri Lankan fans the best in entertainment. Mary Duff songs will be performed by one of Sri Lanka's most respected musicians Mignonne Fernando who is also helping out with the production of the concert.
David Roberts who sang Cliff Richard songs at the Jetliners concert and also at Indra Raj's concert together with Damayantha Kuruppu will perform the Daniel O'Donnell songs. David who has been singing in the UK for the past 30 years sings a wide repertoire of songs.
This concert is bound to justify why he is so much in demand in the UK where he performs almost five days of the week.
The concert will feature solo hits of both singers and also duets. Few of the songs on the cards are somewhere between, Hey good looking, Top of the world, Footsteps, I need you, My boy Lollipop, Lipstick on your collar, Knock three times, beautiful Sunday and more. There will also be medleys' of The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Jim Reeves, Cliff Richard. The finale of the concert will take the form of a sing along with many hits to be sung with the audience. Choro Calibre will support with backup vocals.
The presentation quality of the concert will be further enhanced with Malinda's sound and lighting by Hussein.
According to Damayantha of DK promotions the sales are very satisfactory with most of the high priced tickets being snapped up within the first three days since the release. The Golden Jubilee concert of Desmond de Silva 'The Journey' will be staged on December 28.
